Hagrid

This is an art doll long in the making. D'y'all remember my little Bundle o' Harry. Well, at the time I really wanted to make an art doll of Hagrid instead of Harry, but then I did baby Harry and was actually very pleased with him. But I never left off toying with the idea of bringing my vision of Hagrid to life. While I absolutely love Robbie Coltrane in the movies, I wanted my own version of him, one that was more akin to how I had first envisioned him while sitting in a crowded first-grade classroom. I think somewhere along the way, my two ideas of Hagrid merged and this was the eventual outcome - Hagrid the Lumberjack.

I actually started him way back in August last year, and even now he isn't fully finished. I still want to make a little umbrella and a frilly pink apron. And possibly sculpt/sew some nifflers or blast-ended skrewts to keep him company. (Am I the only person who thinks Hagrid's Care of Magical Creatures class would be a ton of fun?)

Other than his skin color being absolutely atrocious and his eyes being a little unfocused and sloppy and his arms being too long, I'm very, very pleased with how he turned out. Unfortunately you can't see his whole collar on his shirt that I sewed in, but it's one of my favorite parts (other than the shoes, I love the shoes!). It looks like an actual collar and it folds over and everything! Unfortunately his unruly hair hides most of it.
