Guitar Birdhouse WIP

So, people like to give me random things sometimes. Like a dremel or a barcode scanner or, in this case, a broken miniature guitar. Having recently declared my concentration in AP art as Art Dolls, I immediately thought of turning this into an assemblage doll. I wasn't really thrilled with the idea as I'm not a huge fan of assemblages and they frankly aren't my style, but I thought I might be 'expanding my horizon' or something like that. The first person I told responded with "That's a bit creepy." And my insecurities surrounding the project exponentially heightened. That's when one of my best friends suggested I turn it into a bird house. What a brilliantly fantastic idea! It's already got the hole and everything. So I happily chucked the assemblage idea, sanded all the paint off the guitar body (sanding alone has taken me around 3-4 hours, blech), added a peg and a little seed trough, and voila! it's starting to like a pretty wicked birdhouse. This is just a work in progress at the moment, I've been adding clay and as soon as it dries, I'm going to paint it and hopefully it will resemble the bark of an aspen tree. . . . hopefully.

I'm not entirely sure why I decided to post it right now, but I liked the look of it all bare and sanded. Hope you enjoy. Comments and constructive criticism are always appreciated.
