Redcoat West Contest Entry

Yay fanart!  

So I tend to be one of those watchers on DA who just like to lurk around the internet, faving something here, reading journals there, maybe even leaving a comment once in a while.  However, It's just a little hypocritical of me.  I like it when watchers actively communicate with me by leaving meaningful comments on my art and journals and stuff (not that I'm saying anything . . . hint, hint, nudge, nudge).  So I've decided that I need to be a better watcher and really let people know that I'm watching them.  

So, after that long and unnecessary introduction - This is me being a more active watcher and entering a contest for the webcomic Redcoat West (fav.me/d7lf8uu)!  Yay!  

It's a fantastic comic that I actually found a few years ago when I used to be an even worse DA lurker and didn't even have an account.  The first chapter has finally been finished and it's super fantastic.  

So, yeah.  This is the main character Jem Hurst, looking a little more satisfied with the world than usual.  It was really fun to do this in watercolor, however I think I need to practice more with blending and shading :/ .  Also, I'm still trying to work on painting night skies - this one got pretty washed out, but at least it doesn't look too bad.
